Victoria Police members from the State Highway Patrol pulled over a Maserati in Altona Meadows last week, after officers observed the vehicle exceeding the speed limit on the Princes Freeway.
The car was clocked at 111km/h in a 100km/h zone before being intercepted at about 12.40pm on Tuesday, and a man presented police with more than a meteoric motor vehicle to contend with on the day.
In addition to traffic offences relating to excessive speed, a 51-year-old man from Footscray tested positive to Methamphetamine in an oral fluid roadside drug test. It was then discovered he also had a suspended licence.
The Maserati was impounded for 30 days and the man will be charged on summons for suspended driving, drug driving and exceeding the speed limit. He is looking at a further six months loss of licence if found guilty.
