Masked man wanted over more Maribyrnong armed robberies

Victoria Police detectives from the Altona North Embona Taskforce are appealing for public assistance to help identify a masked man following two recent armed robberies in Maribyrnong.

The first incident took place on September 30 at a service station on Hampstead Road, with investigators told a man entered the store about 9.10pm and produced a firearm, making threats and demanding cash from the attendant before fleeing the store.

Detectives believe the same man attended a pharmacy on Hampstead Road shortly before 9pm on October 17, and on this occasion, the man again produced a firearm and stole an amount of cash from the register before fleeing west along Hampstead Road.

No one was injured during either incident and police have released images and CCTV footage of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries. He is perceived as Caucasian in appearance and about 170-180cm tall.

CCTV footage suggests that the man appears to be wearing grey tracksuit pants and a black hooded jacket during the first incident, and a black jacket, dark blue pants and a beanie at the time of the second.

Anyone who recognises the man or has any information that might assist police with their investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at the Crime Stoppers website.
