Man dies at Ferguson Street Pier found floating in Williamstown waters

A man has been found dead at Ferguson Street Pier in Williamstown, with a passer-by discovering the body floating in waters nearby the pier, at around 3pm on Sunday afternoon.

Willy and Hobby has been told the man, aged in his 60s, was working on his boat before the tragedy occurred, which is believed to have been caused by either an accident or a medical episode.

Parks Victoria officers closed the pier to the public as Victoria Police members from Williamstown attended the scene to investigate the incident, with the coroner later removing the body.

Exact details on the circumstances surrounding the tragedy, including the cause of death, is yet to be determined however it is understood police are not treating the death as suspicious.
