Wade Noonan: Hobsons Bay to ‘have schools it can be proud of’

Member for Williamstown Wade Noonan has announced that three schools in Hobsons Bay will share in almost $500,000 from the State Government to repair school buildings and facilities.

The additional funds mean Williamstown High School, Altona North Primary School and Kingsville Primary School won’t have to sacrifice funding from their school budget to complete the urgent repairs.

Repair funds include $103,000 for Kingsville Primary School, $196,000 for Williamstown High School’s Pasco Street Campus, and $198,000 for Altona North Primary School’s two main buildings.

Speaking on the funding announcement, Mr Noonan said the investments represent essential works funding and highlight the State Government’s commitment to education throughout Victoria and particularly the west.

“Investments like these are vital to teachers, students, and the broader school community in order to ensure teachers can do their jobs to the best of their abilities, and our local community can have schools it can be proud of,” he said.

The school building ‘boom’ is understood to have delivered more than 1,000 school upgrades and 56 new school projects across the state, which is being touted as supporting almost 5,000 construction jobs across Victoria.
