Barry Plant helps Newport raise over $2,000 for Abby’s Army

Barry Plant’s grand opening has helped Newport raise over $2,000 for Abby’s Army, a campaign supporting the Children’s Cancer Foundation and Challenge, in the name of a local resident who is currently fighting Leukaemia.

Abby is a 10-year-old Grade 5 student at Sacred Heart Primary School in Newport. Born and bred in Newport, Abby lives with her Mum and Dad, two younger sisters, and her beloved dog, Louie.

The support of Abby’s friends and family was combined with the support of the extended community on Saturday, at the grand opening of Barry Plant’s new real estate office in Newport, where over $2,000 was raised for Abby’s chosen cancer charities.

The grand opening, which took over Paine Reserve in Newport , featured a sausage sizzle, face painting, colouring competition and animal farm, as well as personal training and dancing demonstrations.

Barry Plant Newport Director Paps Manikhot said the grand opening was a successful day meeting members of the community, but importantly to raise funds for young Abby, who is fighting Leukaemia.

“Barry Plant Newport are humbled by the support from the community of Newport and the generosity they have shown in raising money for Abby’s Army. No doubt your contribution will help Abby with her fight for a brighter future,” Mr Manikhot said.

“The grand opening was a great success and we thank absolutely everyone who attended, donated and contributed towards the day. We love how this community helps each other out and we’re proud to be apart of the journey.”
