Hot Mikado is the latest instalment from the Williamstown Musical Theatre Company and will be showing at the Centenary Theatre in Williamstown from May 18-26.
The production is a ‘HOT’ updating of Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘The Mikado’, and weaves a sharp witted, fun-filled tale where despite life or death stakes, characters still find time to croon their troubles away.
Set in a fictionalised Japan, at a time when outlandish laws sentence people to death for almost any indiscretion, it is the language of jazz, gospel and the blues that is spoken most fluently.
